She’s led large teams, built impactful business strategies, and stayed deeply rooted in one mission — helping local businesses and communities not just survive, but thrive.

The Birth of The Collective Concept

Nicole and Sharlee’s story began in the media world — creating strategies for major digital portals and local publications. They saw the incredible power of connection and collaboration, and how a strong community network could transform businesses.

In 2017, Sharlee traded city life for the Garden Route, where Nicole was already based. What started as a working partnership quickly evolved into a shared mission — to level the playing field for small businesses and strengthen local economies.

By early 2025, that mission became The Collective Concept — a platform built to empower local businesses and create real, lasting impact. Based on one simple truth: collaboration is power.

And the first step in that movement? Shop Loka.

A hyperlocal e-commerce platform helping small businesses stand out, grow, and compete on their own terms. Because when we support local, we’re building more than businesses — we’re building stronger, more connected communities and more sustainable economies.

How Shop Loka Works

  • Small businesses that can’t afford their own e-commerce store can list their products on Shop Loka.

  • Vendors pay a small monthly fee — and our marketing team promotes the platform across the country, driving awareness and support for local brands.

  • Shoppers can search by category or store, with a delivery fee applied per store they purchas
    e from.
  • Once an order is placed, a courier collects from the vendor and delivers straight to the buyer.

  • It’s local shopping made easy — for everyone.
